Venice is a city on Florida's Gulf Coast just south of Sarasota known for Venice Beach, with its offshore coral reef, and Caspersen Beach. Venice is known as “The Shark Tooth Capital of the World” due to its abundance of shark teeth that wash up on the beaches. The city is also home to the Venetian Waterway Park, a scenic trail that follows the Intracoastal Waterway. It's offers 14 miles of beaches and plenty of recreational opportunities, including swimming, sunbathing, fishing, shelling and boating. It is known for it's spectacular shoreline.
Downtown Venice is graced by northern Italian architecture and beautifully landscaped boulevards that date to the original city plans of 1925 and reminiscent of the Italian city of Venice whose name it borrowed.
